Arlington YIMBYs endorse Takis Karantonis for Arlington County Board 2025 General Election

Arlington county board member Takis Karantonis received 100% of the YIMBY Arlington member endorsement vote based on his record of pro-housing advocacy. This includes:

• Voting for Expanded Housing Options (Missing Middle)
• Extensive County leadership experience prior to his time on the county board, to include serving as a board member with the Northern Virginia Affordable Housing Alliance (formerly AHS)
• His thoughtful questionnaire responses aligned with YIMBY priorities to address the housing crisis. This includes support for reducing unreasonable barriers that suppress housing supply (specifically citing building code reform to include allowing single-stairway buildings), reducing parking minimums, and promoting zoning reform to allow for more walkable and amenity-rich neighborhoods.

The Arlington County board general election will be on November 4th, 2025. Early voting started on September 19th. Pro-housing voters interested in participating in the general election should ensure their voter registration as early as possible to take part in the election.
